Welcome to the Animas River Stakeholders Group Website.
The mission of the ARSG is to clean up the environmental damage caused by abandoned mines, to improve water quality and habitats through a collaborative process that includes stakeholders from mining companies, land owners, local , state and federal governmental agencies, and environmental agencies.

Part of the mining legacy is metal loading to alpine streams and creeks in addition to the natural metal loading already occurring in this mineralized area. ARSG began in 1994 as a process to determine appropriate water quality standards for the Upper Animas River Basin.read more
